Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is an American and Canadian musician and singer. There are more than 20 albums. Her music is classified by DiFranco as folk, alternative and rock but also has influences of jazz and hip hop. Ani DiFranco has been widely acknowledged as the feminist's icon, and Grammy-winning artist is considered to be the father of DIY music. It was one of the first artists to launch their own labels in 1990. DiFranco is the son of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They came together at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian descent, and her mother came from Montreal. Ani DiFranco sang and wrote 32 Flavors. It is a track from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th studio release. A variation of the song is featured on the movie soundtrack for the 1999 Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco acknowledged her apology in 2013, after it became known that she had planned to hold the three-day event on an Louisiana past slave plantation.
